We want everyone to experience that same sense of freedom and joy. So, if you're looking for a safe and welcoming community where you can explore your interests and find your inner peace, join us at AANR West today!
“Is it normal for us keep to our bodies covered in cloth 100% of the time? For some people, walking from the bathroom to the bedroom with no towel handy will cause them extreme panic and stress. Is this healthy? Being naked should just be another form of dress, nothing more, nothing less.”

The Rocky Mountain Naturist Club is a distinguished AANR non-landed Club that is open to all individuals, irrespective of whether they are members of the American Association for Nude Recreation. The club is steadfast in its mission to advocate for clean, wholesome social nudism/naturism within the expansive Denver area. This is achieved by providing a safe, secure environment where like-minded individuals can congregate and partake in family-oriented activities and gatherings.
One of the distinctive features of our club is its gender-balanced membership. This membership is composed of a diverse, non-judgmental group of naturists who share a common belief: that nudism/naturism is not about sexual connotations but is instead about the freedom of the body and the unconditional acceptance of the human form. This acceptance is not bound by the shape, size, skin color, or sexual identification of the individual. We warmly welcome and accept everyone into our club, appreciating them for who they are as individuals. As such, our events are a melting pot of diversity, with a mix of people from various types and backgrounds.
At our gatherings, nudity is always optional. We recognize that everyone has different comfort levels, and we respect your right to choose the amount of clothing you need for your level of comfort. Most people at our gatherings exercise the option to be nude, while others may choose to be partially nude. It is essential to note that there is never any pressure to be nude at our events. We firmly believe in the importance of individual choice and comfort.
SCNA is a clothing-optional "travel club," which means we are a social organization of nudists and like-minded friends with no specific park or resort to call home. We meet in the backyards of members with swimming pools or Jacuzzis, or we go sailing off the coast, or we hike on secluded mountain trails or visit local beaches where we can enjoy the surf and sand as nature intended. We also participate in many activities at the various nudist resorts in our fair state. https://socalnaturist.org

Wisconsin close to banning WNBR
January 25
The Wisconsin Senate has approved two bills that would criminalize participation in Madison's World Naked Bike Ride and other similar events. One bill would prohibit exposing genitals in public, and the other would allow charging individuals with a misdemeanor for intentional display of genitals. Concerns have been raised that these bills could impact other events across the state. Organizers of the ride argue that it does not violate any indecency laws. The bills now await approval or veto from Gov. Tony Evers. Read article
House panel advances bill criminalizing nonconsensual AI nudity
January 15
The House Courts and Criminal Codes committee in Indiana has unanimously voted to extend the state's revenge porn law to include AI-generated nude images. The bill aims to address the increasing prevalence of deepfakes and synthetic nudes, which can be created using real photographs or videos. However, concerns have been raised about the legislation's wording and its potential conflict with the First Amendment. The bill will now proceed to the House floor for further consideration. AANR Western Regional General Assembly 2024

AANR Western Regional Fall Board Meeting
November, 2024
In the heart of the expansive desert, amidst swirling sands and scorching sun, lay Solara Sand Dunes. A place as harsh and relentless as it was beautiful and inspiring, its dry, arid expanses held a secret... an oasis. A spot of lush verdancy and cool respite, it was an unlikely naturist haven where the adventurous could escape to—The Desert Oasis Escape. Milo, a seasoned traveler with a thirst for the extraordinary, decided he was ready for it.
Milo arrived at the threshold of Solara, the horizon a blend of heated air and endless dunes shimmering with temptation. He left his car here, along with his clothing. His hat, water bottle, sunscreen, and boots remained his only companions in the vast wilderness. The first step on the scalding sand was a sudden, but not entirely unpleasant shock—a startling reminder of the raw elements he was about to experience.
With each step, the desert claimed a part of him—the whispers of his worries, the shackles of his routines, remnants of his urban existence. The sand beneath his boots wore away at his inhibitions while the sun bore down upon his exposed body, making him acutely aware of every sensation—the heat, the dryness, the pure silence occasionally broken by a distant bird's call.
The sun felt intense on his naked skin, but Milo was prepared. He stayed hydrated and made sure to frequently apply sunscreen. He treasured the realness of the experience, the way it seemed to strip him down to his most primal self, bare yet protected, vulnerable yet always seen.
When the oasis finally came into view, it was a sight to behold. Palm trees swayed, the water in the center twinkling under the harsh midday sun. Around him were others like him, comfortably baring their truths under nature's gaze.
Immersing himself in the cool water of the oasis was heavenly, a delicious contrast to the desert heat. His body felt alive under the clear, cool water as it lapped against his skin. Laughter echoed around him as others dove into the haven, their bodies unapologetically free.
Every encounter at the oasis was warm and judgment-free. From the elderly couple who shared stories of their various escapes, to the young woman who frolicked with carefree joy, their nakedness was normal and natural here. Every roll, every scar, every wrinkle, and every mark was a story or an experience—uncovered and celebrated.
As the evening cooled, a bonfire was lit. People gathered, still in all their bare glory, sharing stories and food. The flames danced on their skin, creating shifting canvases of light and shadow. The communal feeling was intoxicating, a shared belief in the freeing power of naked honesty.
In the quiet solitude of dawn, Milo found himself back at the dunes, watching as the desert transformed from a dim, mysterious expanse to a golden, glowing masterpiece. The transformation felt symbolic—an illustration of his own evolution from a visitor to a participant in the Desert Oasis Escape.
Returning to his clothes after days of pure freedom felt strange initially. The feel of the fabric was a stark reminder of the lifestyle he hailed from, yet it couldn't erase the liberation he experienced.
As Milo drove away, dust swirling in his rearview mirror, he carried with him the remainder of his time in the nature-nourished oasis and the soothing embrace of acceptance. He was transformed, his perspective forever colored by the sun-soaked unforgiving sand and the cool sanctuary of the oasis.
The Desert Oasis Escape was more than just a naturist paradise—it was a place where he had discovered a newfound, deep respect for authenticity. It was where he had learned to appreciate every bit of his body, every grace of nature, and most importantly, the necessity for vibrant, honest, and holistic experiences.

Our organization has undergone significant changes over the past few decades, with a focus on providing more detailed and comprehensive descriptions of the locations where we practice and enjoy our nudist lifestyle. While terms such as "nudist colony" or "nudist camp" may have been accurate in the past, we now prefer the use of terms such as "nudist clubs," "parks," or "resorts," which better reflect the diverse and welcoming nature of our community. Additionally, we have adopted new terminology to describe ourselves, including naturists, nudists, or members of clothing-optional organizations, highlighting the positive and respectful aspects of our lifestyle.
We believe that our lifestyle is grounded in basic human rights, such as the freedom to express oneself and the freedom to be comfortable in one's own skin. Our organization is committed to ensuring that these rights are protected and respected, and we work tirelessly to promote acceptance and understanding of our way of life. In addition to advocating for top freedom, social nudism, and family nudity, we also support a range of initiatives aimed at promoting body positivity and inclusivity, including educational programs, community events, and outreach activities. By working together, we can build a more open and accepting society that values diversity and celebrates the beauty of the human form.

Club Relations focuses on communicating with the local clubs and members of AANR West to inform and promote other events within the region with the goal of avoiding scheduling conflicts, especially for major events. Another goal is to encourage participants of events to share their stories and experiences with AANR West for publication on the website and newsletter for promotional purposes.
When it is found that AANR-West By-laws or procedures need to be updated to comply with federal, state, local laws, or AANR International bylaws and procedures, or simply need to be updated, the Bylaws & Procedures committee assembles the appropriate motions to be presented to the Board of Directors at its next scheduled meeting for discussion and possible action.
By-law changes can only be made by the regional assembly once each year. Procedures can be changed at one of the three Board meetings or by email in the case of an emergency.
The goal of the Family Committee is to ensure that clubs and events are family friendly and to encourage clubs to include activities that are attractive to families, regardless of age, gender, or orientation. Included in this goal is to promote the acceptance of single men and women of all ages at clubs and events.
The members of this committee are familiar with QuickBooks, and they supervise the budget-making process each Fall. During the rest of the year they approve all major expenditures and help the committees manage their allocated funds. They periodically review and make recommendations regarding reimbursement procedures.
Government Affairs is one of the more important committees as it monitors news stories and legislative bills to be sure no government entity (federal, state, county, local community) is proposing any laws or other restrictions on our ability to enjoy our nudist way of life.
The committee chair(s) sit on the AANR Government Affairs Board and attend a monthly telephone conference call with our counterparts in other regions to decide courses of action on issues that may occur at any time.
The committee’s goal is to create and maintain a book of standard policy positions, so we can be consistent with our mission statement’s goals.
The committee works with the Naturist Society’s Naturist Action Committee (NAC), our GAT counterpart, to be sure all actions are aligned.
The Internal Affairs committee is tasked with making sure that AANR-West complies with all federal non-profit regulations, state corporate law, and local business regulations. It also assures that AANR-West follows all bylaws and procedures as specified by AANR International.
The committee also seeks out and vets private practice attorneys interested in providing legal advice to the attorneys of nudists who may have received tickets for simple nudity in areas where it is traditional to be nude. The attorneys will also provide advice or appropriate assistance to AANR members involved in legal custody disputes where nudity has become one of the issues.
Direct Members associated with AANR West are mostly administered by the main office in Kissimmee, Florida. However, AANR West also communicates with these members directly to inform them about the services we can provide and events in our region, as well as activities hosted by the clubs in our region. Direct Members associated with AANR West are also delivered our monthly Newsletter directly via email.
The Membership Committee also continues effective marketing channels and discovers new methods of promoting AANR West including, but not limited to, events and promotional material to be distributed at clubs and events.
The Public Relations Committee focuses on public outreach programs, educating those unfamiliar with social nudity through the AANR-West website, social media, and gathering written material for feature articles created for publication.
Through social media, AANR West posts positive and inspiration information to promote social nudism movement and to encourage our exiting members and to possibly attract people who have never engaged is social nudism. AANR-West does this through their various social media accounts.
The AANR West website is continually updated with current content including announcements, information about clubs and events, and articles for those seeking information about nudism.
The AANR West Newsletter is hosted on the AANR West website and links to the newsletter are sent out monthly via a mass email service (currently MailChimp).
The AANR-West Scholarship Program accepts applications from high school seniors, college students, and people returning to class for technical training in order to return to work or get a promotion.
The Sports Committee creates, coordinates, and promotes various sport events at AANR clubs, typically, at the AANR West Summer Convention and Fall Festival. When requested, the Sports Committee can also provide assistance at other inter-club competitions sponsored by groups or local clubs.
The committee also promotes the annual 5K races held at regional clubs and provides awards for those participating in most or all the races.
The Women In Nude Recreation (WINR) Committee promotes issues of interest specific to women in social nudity. They have their own promotional material and events, sometimes host information booths at trade shows, and host their own events. WINR also has a dedicated page on the AANR West Website and space in the AANR West Monthly Newsletter.
Other special committees sometimes also exist. Currently these committees are the Western Nudist Library Committee, Conventions & Facilities and Delegates, and the Nominations and Awards Committee. These committees exist to take on a specific task.
The Conventions & Facilities and Delegates Committee is overseen by the Vice President and are required to meet only a few times each year as they secure the locations of the three Board of Director meetings and the Annual Regional Convention, and assign the number of delegates each club may have at the Regional Convention and administers their credentials.
The Nominations & Awards Committee is also overseen by the the Vice President and are responsible to seek out the names of persons interested in seeking election to the Board of Directors or as elected Officers of AANR-West, confirm any necessary qualifications, and collect/distribute candidate statements for review by the convention delegates prior to the annual election process.
They also gather the names of persons from the various clubs who are the “unsung heroes” of the region, those volunteers who do so much at the local level who deserve recognition as Man of the Year, Woman of the Year, Family of the Year, Young Man/Woman of the Year, and the Hall of Fame Award (Lifetime Achievement). Other awards are given out to individuals in such categories as Sports, Government Affairs, etc. Clubs also receive annual awards for membership increases and other categories of merit.
From time to time we will add a temporary (Ad Hoc) Committee to handle a specific task that is not expected to need long to complete.
